A Series of Public Hearings Across the Commonwealth

The Massachusetts School Building Authority (the “MSBA”) will be holding a series of public hearings across the Commonwealth regarding the amendment and revision of the MSBA regulations.

Statutory Authority: These amendments and revisions to the regulations (963 CMR 2.00 et seq.) will be promulgated pursuant to the rule-making authority conferred on the MSBA by M.G.L. c. 70B and St. 2004, c. 208, and in accordance with M.G.L. 30A.

Summary of Draft Regulations:
The amendments and revisions to the Regulations that the MSBA will promulgate change the space standards for certain program areas including, Core Academic Spaces, Art & Music, Vocations & Technology, Health & Physical Education, and Dining & Food Service.  The proposed amendments and revisions also change certain design construction standards as they relate to classroom daylighting.

Public Comment Period:
Written public comments will be accepted from February 8, 2010 to March 19, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.  Comments should be delivered to:  The Massachusetts School Building Authority, 40 Broad Street, Suite 500 Boston, MA 02109, Attention: Matthew Donovan.
