Effective public school governance is a key ingredient in education reform. The Massachusetts Association of School Committees and Bridgewater State College are committed to helping school committees meet the leadership challenges of public schools in the 21st century.

Our mission is to assist school committees in creating tommorow's schools today through partnerships that foster communication, collaboration and mutual support through professional development.

The goals of the Center for Public School Leadership are:
• Foster Communication, understanding and dialogue among school committees and superintendents

• Facilitate school committee retreats on such topics as goal setting, group process, and strategic planning
• Collaborate with superintendent organizations to achieve the Center's mission
• Serve as a resource on policy issues that confront school commitees and superintendents
• Offer workshops and orientation sessions on procedural issues facing new and experienced members and school committees
• Support ongoing professional development for school committee members
