KATHLEEN ROBEY, MARLBOROUGH
VICE PRESIDENT - 2008

Currently serving her twelfth year on the Marlborough School Committee, Kathleen Robey is also serving her second term on the MASC Board of Directors as Chair of Division IV. A highly engaged member of the Division and the Advocacy Committee, Ms. Robey has worked strenuously to build and strengthen connections between Division IV districts around common legislative goals and increased support for public schools. In this capacity, she has helped develop and sponsor a number of workshops and special clinics on topics including legislative priorities, school funding, special needs/autism and has worked aggressively to implement a moratorium on new charter schools and to enact change for a charter school funding formula that is more fair to the sending districts. She is also currently a member of the Board of Directors Policy Committee; Resolutions Committee, and for the past three years has been a thoughtful proponent of MASC positions on the national level as a member of the National School Board Association's Federal Relations Network.

On her local school committee, Ms. Robey currently serves as the committee's Vice Chair and as Chair of its Negotiations Committee. In addition, she has been a member of the Finance; Policy; and Curriculum subcommittees; as a member of two school building committees; and as a member of principal and administrator search committees, including a superintendent search in 2006.

Prior to serving on the school committee Ms. Robey was actively involved in the Marlborough community, serving on the Public Library Parent's Council, PTO, and as a member of a school council. She is a member of a local volunteer service organization, GFWC Marlborough Junior Woman's Club, and currently serves as President. A Missouri native, Ms. Robey has lived in Massachusetts for the past 24 years with her husband and two children, and anywhere from one to 14 cats. She is currently employed by a local specialty food market and also works as a proofreader for the local newspaper.
