SUMMARY:Online Workshop: Promoting Resilience and Healthy Outcomes for LGBTQ Students
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to attend! MASC and Divisions IV\, VII\, and X (Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion) are sponsoring a special Zoom Information Session for Monday\, October 30 at 11:30AM on Promoting Resilience and Healthy Outcomes for LGBTQ Students. The program will be hosted by Landon Callahan in collaboration with Jason Wheeler and Jeff Perrotti and is a follow up to their earlier session a few weeks ago. \nThis session will review the laws\, policies\, resources\, and best practices for supporting lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer and questioning students\, with a focus on transgender and gender nonconforming students. \nBy the end of this workshop\, participants will: \n\nBe able to articulate and use correct LGBTQ terms and definitions\nUnderstand the experiences of LGBTQ students and families\nHave reviewed ESE policy guidance as it relates to students\, families and staff\nBe aware of the factors that promote resilience and positive outcomes for LGBTQ Students\nDevelop strategies to navigate the political climate and engage with community members\n\n
