MASC Divisions IV and VIII invite you to join them for a workshop on school safety and security. All are welcome to attend. Dinner and refreshments will be served at 6pm, follwed by presentations.
Schools in Massachusetts, as well as across the US, have been plagued by bomb threats which disrupt education and create fear and anxiety among students, staff and parents. FBI Special Agent Brian Leblanc will provide an overview of options when a bomb threat occurs, whether to shelter in place, lock down, or evacuate the building.
Sean Dougherty from INForce 911, will also be discussing a system to provide direct emergency connections to local Police stations for quicker response times using apps on computers and on smart phones.
Mark Hollick, Principal at Assabet and Assabet’s School Resource Officer Scott King will present the safety and security procedures that have been implemented at Assabet. Included will be information on Assabet’s Safe School Assurances against Harassment, Sexual Harassment, Bullying, and Intimidation, Weapons and Drug policies, as well as smoking. In addition, they will share their practices for school-wide daily security and active shooter response.
