Among the areas of public policy that members are often asking questions about, health care and health coverage is a matter that local elected officials need to understand. It might include strategies for negotiating benefit packages, cost sharing, seeking out the most efficient plans to offer, health care affects the well-being of our staff and students as much as it impacts district finances. Also, Medicaid and Medicaid reimbursement as well as Medicare services are important to staff, students, and especially retirees.  In response to our member inquiries, MASC has invited two people with an insightful perspective on health coverage and care and why elected officials, like school committee members, should care. Join MASC executive director, Glenn Koocher, who will moderate the webinar featuring David Morales, Former Commissioner of the MA Health Care Finance and Policy agency and Shawn Duhammel, the executive director of the MA Retired Employees Association to address your questions.
