To my Urban and Suburban Colleagues, On Friday at the MASC/MASS Conference Keynote Panel, many of you heard me call
MASC advocates on behalf of Massachusetts school committees in all legislative and regulatory arenas, including at the state and federal levels. The issues that are followed by Association staff, the MASC Board of Directors, MASC’s Legislative Committee and representatives to the Federal Relations Network have a direct impact on school district budgets, employer-employee relations, and the governance authority of every school committee in the Commonwealth.

MASC worked with Student School Committee Representatives to develop a resource for students serving on the School Committee including important protocols, parliamentary procedures, and advice on how to maximize effectiveness.
COSCAP held its annual meeting virtually on February 3, 2022. The Council elected the Executive Committee for the next two years. Plans for the MASC Annual Conference sessions and professional development workshops are underway for 2022.

In the fall of 2018, the Board and staff of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) conducted a survey of its membership as part of a branding and marketing initiative. The survey was designed to collect data about members’ awareness about, use of, and satisfaction with various MASC programs, events, and services. The data was collected in order to help guide the organization’s investment in and marketing of particular tools and resources, ultimately to enhance the value of MASC membership.
