East Longmeadow, MA is a town of 16,460 people that is located south of the city of Springfield on the Connecticut border. The town is historically known for its red and brown sandstone quarries, which provided the building materials for not only buildings in the region but for monuments and buildings across the nation. Having at one time over 100 quarries, settlers from around the world came to East Longmeadow, establishing the diverse framework from which the town of East Longmeadow is built. Still today, as a suburb of Springfield, the town offers a mix of rural, suburban, urban, and industrial life.
