POSITION OVERVIEW & SHARED SERVICES
The Superintendent leads a complex educational ecosystem. A defining feature of the MVPS structure is the Shared Services Organization. As such, the Superintendent does not just manage building principals, but oversees a centralized infrastructure that provides essential services to all schools on the island.

Key Reporting Structures (per Organizational Chart):
• Direct Reports: Assistant Superintendent, Director of Student Support Services, Director of English Learners, Director of Finance, and all MVYPS Principals.
• Shared Functions: The Superintendent is responsible for the oversight of island-wide Transportation, Facilities, Grants Management, Accountability/Reporting (MCAS), and Human Resources.
• Governance: The Superintendent reports to five separate School Committees. The successful candidate must be prepared for a rigorous schedule of evening meetings across all districts.

Timeline
• Applications Due: January 21
• Screening Committee Interviews: February 2 – 5
• Finalist Campus Visits: February 9 – 11
• Final Decision by the All-Island School Committee: February 12
• Anticipated Start Date: July 1
