MASC Policy Update
On August 5, 2026, the Governor signed the PROTECT Act into law. As part of the legislation and the guidance issues by DESE on August 21, 2026, districts are required to adopt a policy and develop companion procedures to align with the new law by September 1st or the first day of school, whichever is earliest. MASC has taken the suggested policy provided by DESE, and created a model policy for our committees to consider. DESE guidance can be found HERE.
